PetStep Privacy Policy

Overview

PetStep collects and processes the data needed to authenticate players, restore game progress, support purchases, and power optional cloud-backed features such as AI media generation, notifications, and cross-device sync.

Data We Collect

• Account identifiers such as email address and supported social sign-in metadata.
• Gameplay state including pets, lineage, blessings, world progress, resonance, inventory, guild state, and battle history.
• Step and activity history used to calculate daily goals, world scaling, and pet progression when health permissions are granted.
• Generated media metadata and URLs for pet images, battle sprites, and soundscapes that you explicitly request.
• Purchase and entitlement state used to restore generation passes, ad-free access, and prevent duplicate rewards.
• Advertising identifiers and ad delivery events when ads are enabled for non-ad-free accounts.
• Device and app diagnostics needed to investigate crashes, sync issues, abuse, or failed generation attempts.

How We Use Data

• To sign you in and keep your save state synced across sessions and devices.
• To calculate gameplay systems such as daily goals, battles, resonance, and progression rewards.
• To generate requested media assets and return them to your account.
• To restore purchases, manage generation passes, and honor ad-free access.
• To serve ads to accounts that have not purchased active ad-free access.
• To prevent fraud, abusive automation, unsafe prompts, and other misuse of the service.
• To respond to customer support, privacy, billing, and deletion requests.

Health and Activity Data

If you grant permission, PetStep reads step totals from the device health platform. PetStep uses that data to drive progression and daily-goal features. PetStep does not need continuous location tracking for core gameplay.

Service Providers

PetStep uses third-party processors to operate the service:

• Supabase for authentication, database storage, and edge functions.
• Cloudflare for API delivery and edge routing.
• Firebase for notification delivery.
• RevenueCat for purchase entitlement management.
• Google AdMob for ad delivery when ads are enabled.
• fal.ai for optional media-generation requests.

PetStep does not sell personal data.

Data Retention

Gameplay and account records are retained while your account remains active so your progress can be restored. Delete Account removes the primary data tied to your PetStep account, subject to any narrow records that must be retained for legal, fraud, tax, accounting, or security obligations.

Your Choices and Rights

• Export your account data from the in-app Data & Privacy screen.
• Delete your account from the in-app Account screen.
• Revoke health permissions in iOS or Android system settings.
• Contact privacy support for manual requests or regional-rights review at privacy@petstep.app.

If local law gives you additional rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing, PetStep will honor those rights through the in-app tooling or manual review.

Children

If regional law requires age-based restrictions, parental consent, or enhanced protections, PetStep will apply those rules where required.
